![]() It is possible to get the achievements for upgrading each individual settlement without unlocking Contractor.) As with all Frostpunk scenarios, a good early game is the key to a good outcome overall, so this guide includes a high level of detail for the first ten days of the scenario and moves onto more general guidelines for the latter two-thirds or so of the game. (Note that as of, Contractor still seems to be bugged. In order to get the achievements for each fully upgraded settlement in On the Edge, all upgrades must be completed before the New London refugees arrive. But I realize I hadn't specified that in the original version.) (Getting Loyal reputation with each settlement should be trivially easy over the course of this guide, as you will get plenty of opportunities to make each settlement happy. If any other settlements are not Loyal, you will find yourself on the hook for a lot of resources (3000 coal if the Children's Mine isn't loyal 50 Workers if the Shipwreck Camp isn't, and 200 Food if the Hot Springs aren't - all assuming you're trying to save New London, with somewhat different - and imo, harder - goals in play if you want to feed them to the wolves) at the end of the scenario. ![]() NB4: This guide mildly assumes you're attempting to make the other settlements Loyal to you, rather than Distrustful, with Loyal making for a much easier endgame. Drop me a line if you have problems/questions/corrections! ![]() NB3: The scenario seems to have been slightly rebalanced since the writing of draft 1 of this guide (which was on release day) the recommendations will still work well, but with more wiggle room than I initially recorded. For the Food law, as mentioned later in this guide, I highly recommend save-scumming to get Soup (they may send you Soup or Food Additives). For the Dead, they will in my experience only give you the Snow Pit (but my sample size is small), which is generally fine to take. ![]() In most cases that will mean multiple under-staffed Medical Posts taking precedence over a preferred number of Workshops.įor Dissent they will give you either Fighting Arena or Public House, both of which are useful. Do whatever it takes to avoid having Gravely Ill before you can get an Infirmary. You will not reasonably have the luxury of factories and prostheses if you want to finish the settlement upgrades. You want to avoid New London's "help" with Gravely Ill at all costs in every test I've done, they have only passed down Radical Treatment. NB2: Further playthroughs since originally writing this guide have made me realize that the New London favor request mechanic is definitely not deterministic, and you may at different times only have options to request (in terms of laws) dealing with: I haven't done survivor mode yet at the time of this edit.) (To adapt the below advice for at least Hard mode, it's fairly straightforward just actually send another 1-2 shipments to New London and don't recruit the people from Nansen's Watch until after you make contact with the Hot Springs. If you try this (specifically, the "only send one shipment to New London" bit) on higher difficulties, you will starve. NB: The advice given herein is only for Normal Mode, with the assumption that you want to get the settlement upgrade achievements (or just finish Normal Mode).
